We love our sauna we purchased from The Sauna Place! We got Dundalk 5x7 and a cold plunge. It took some time to arrive but it was easy to assemble and it works and looks great! Caleb helped me with choosing the right heater for it. Dundalk saunas smell amazing! Ours is red cedar. It has two levels of benches and high ceiling. The sauna warms up to 188 F in 30 min. We have HUUM heater (the egg shaped). We got a stainless steel lined cold plunge and it works great.
Highly recommended. I purchased the sauna wood oil. Easy to apply - completely transformed my sauna.
I own Sharp Edge CrossFit in Evanston, IL., and we have a Sisu sauna for our members to enjoy. One of the coils in our sauna's heater broke. After a quick Internet search I found that the Sauna Place had the replacement parts I needed. I called them and spoke to the NICEST person on the phone. He assured me not only are the parts readily available and able to be shipped quickly, but that replacing the parts in the heater is not a difficult task. My stress pertaining to my gym members not being able to use the sauna they pay for was pretty quickly alleviated after talking to whomever I spoke with on the phone this morning. For that, I am so appreciative! Excellent customer service! And I highly recommend!
The Sauna oil Sold here is 97% paraffin which is not approved for inhalation and is a petroleum distillate. It begins breaking down at 200f and creating harmful gasses. Do not put petroleum products in you wellness sauna. This product is listed at 100% natural (bout as natural as gasoline) and its ingredients are not listed on the website. I had to call and request at MSDS sheet and then lookup the CAS codes to discover if this was harmful to my family. This is the cheap option not the good one
Update: after several more weeks of bad shipping and not being notified that the shipper could not get ahold of me I finally picked up my heater. They sent the wrong one. To their credit they made it right as fast as they could despite my rather irate disposition at this point. Credit where credit is due, they always tried to fix their mistakes, I just wish there had been less.
I want so badly to increase this rating. I get it shipping is crazy and industries have busy seasons where they’re running behind, I also get switching to a new inventory/shipping system and it can be hard (though judging from reviews they’ve been updating the shipping system for four months now). Everytime I do get ahold of someone they seem sincere. What I don’t think is great is not listing on your website if you’re out of stock of something. This happened with the heater I ordered, I called about a week after the order was complete (charged to my card) but not shipped. They told me they didn’t have any so they ordered one from somewhere else and that would ship to me ~ two week lead time (far cry from their website saying they’ll ship within two days). Their website should reflect their stock. They were apologetic and said they’d actually get one the next day in a shipment and they’d just send me that one - great! It’s been over a week since they said that and it still hasn’t shipped. I called and asked if they could just ship my vapor barrier and tape so I can continue my build and they agreed - great again! I just got the box and they shipped me qty 1 of each when I ordered qty 2 and the receipt shows it should be two as well. They seem well intentioned however they’re just unorganized at this point. I’m
sure they’ll fix my order but at this point I can’t recommend them - at least call ahead and make sure your item is in stock before buying and follow up on shipping. (My shipment receipt shows the heater shipped, it did not, that was expected. Apparently shipping a partial order sends a receipt that everything shipped.)
