A wood-burning stove produces serious heat at floor level, and the floor underneath it needs to be designed for that — not assumed to handle it. The Harvia WL110 is a floor-mounted protective bedding platform built for large wood-burning heaters with water tanks, including the Harvia 20 Pro, 22, and 36 series. It sits between the stove and the floor surface, absorbing and deflecting heat that would otherwise reach your waterproofing membrane, tile adhesive, or wood subfloor directly. The platform is aluminum-zinc coated steel, painted black, and built to match the footprint of large Harvia stoves exactly — 22 inches wide by 25 inches deep, with adjustable feet that level the stove on floors that aren't perfectly flat, from 2.4 to 3 inches of clearance. On a waterproofed tile floor the WL110 is sufficient on its own. On a wooden floor, Harvia requires a protective sheath to be used alongside it — the bedding alone does not meet the installation standard for wood substrates.
