    HUUM Heater Element Replacement

    One of the sauna stones exploded while bringing my barrel sauna up to temp and took out all the heating elements in the HUUM 9k drop. So, I had to buy 5 new heating elements, a heat shield and new cable set for the unit.

    Once I took it apart, I realized the ground wire was melted as well. I am not sure if the ground arched out and took the consumables or the stone exploding caused everything to melt. Either way it is an expensive fix for a unit that was only a few months old. I am going to run a grounding rod this time and not take chances it was a grounding issue. These units require a lot of power and running a ground rod is a safe bet. The parts are the parts, not sure how I feel about this HUUM heater. I am going to change out the parts and see how long it lasts before looking at other units.
